World's Biggest Ferris Wheel
 Moscow to build world's biggest ferris wheel!
In efforts to increase tourism levels, Moscow is planning to build the world's biggest ferris wheel.
A location for the project, which is being called Moscow View, has not yet been decided, however options are being discussed.
The plan calls for a 220 meter ferris wheel, which would dwarf the current record holding Singapore Flyer which stands at 165 meters, as well as the London Eye standing at 135 meters, which is a major tourist attraction.
The planned ferris wheel's cabins will move along special rails instead of the conventual internal spokes design, and a spire coming out of the top will push the total hight to 320 meters.
According to Vadim Gaber, head of the American architecture firm Gensler which designed the wheel, construction could proceed anywhere. However, initially when the plan was drawn it was layed out next to the Nataya Sats Musical Theatre near Propekt Vernadskogo.
At the base of the huge wheel the design includes a concert hall, shops and restaurants to be laid out in the shape of a wheel lying on its side, which would cover an area of about 30,000 square meters.
